A 10 days school on “Astronomy and Space Science” was organized by B.P. Koirala Memorial Planetarium Observatory and Science Museum Development Board in Kathmandu. The School discussed on topics such as Observational Tools And Techniques; New Vision Of Our Solar System; Formation Of Stars, Planets And Exo-Solar Planets; Stellar Structures And Their Evolution; Plasma; Large Scale Structures And Their Evolution; Early Universe And Inflation; Dark Matter, Dark Energy And Accelerating Expansion; Nucleo Synthesis; High Energy Astro Physics; Virtual Observatory; Study of Earth (Surface, Hydro Climate); Geology, Meteorology And Hydrology; Resource Management, Forestry, Mines, Agriculture, Water; Natural Hazard Prediction And Mitigation; Glacier Lake Outburst; Earthquake, Flood, Landslide, Forest Fire; Space Mission And Technology(Brief history of global space missions, propulsion, aerodynamics, navigation, guidance and control, launching technology, orbital mechanics and spacecraft orbits); Spacecraft systems(Space craft power system, attitude control, station keeping, thermal control, telemetry tracking and command system, transponders); Satellite communication: International satellite communication system(INTELSAT); Atlantic ocean region (AOR); Pacific ocean regioin (POR); and the Indian ocean region (IOR),Transoceanic telecommunication route, Vista for telephony and inelnet for data interchange, Domestic satellite system (DOMSAT), Voice data and video transmission, Search and rescue system (SARSAT) Prof. Dr. Norio Kaifu, President of International Astronomical Union (2012-2015) was presented as the resource person along with Prof. Dr. Uday Raj Khanal (Central Department of Physics, T.U.), Prem Raj Dhungel,(T.U.), Asso. Prof. Raju Khanal (T.U.), R.K. Sharma (President, Nepal remote sensing and Photogramettric society), Dr. B. Pradhan (Manager, satellite service, Nepal Telecom), Dr. S.K.
